Bio

I am a researcher with a diverse academic background that includes organic agriculture, soil science, population ecology, and ecological modeling. I completed my PhD in Earth System Science, where I worked on the predictability of the terrestrial carbon cycle. In my free time, I am passionate about urban transformation, crafting, and open-source initiatives.

Research Interests

My work at Leipzig University is focused on the attribution of trends and anomalies in the water and carbon cycle. We have set up a storyline attribution framework based on nudging the Community Earth System Model 2 to circulation patterns from reanalysis data. I’m especially interested in the interactions between dynamical and thermodynamical conditions and the indirect effects of CO2 fertilization on climate. Our long-term goal is to build a framework for the timely attribution of land carbon cycle anomalies.
